Only had a chicken and a beef chimichanga. Holy moly the shredded chicken and beef flavors are AMAZING. Best Mexican we've had in Maine. Homemade salsa was perfect. Someone complained about the prices, I disagree. The food is fresh and well worth it. We will definitely be regular customers. Service with a smile. We loved the screened in patio and the shade.

The girl asked me to leave a review, so here it is! I don’t usually write reviews, but this spot earned it. I’m going to be real with you: the food was GOOD! The rice was perfectly soft, and the chimichangas were absolutely delicious. My family and I spent 80, and it was worth every penny. I’m from Boston, so I’ve had my fair share of Mexican food, but this place? A must-stop. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area!

We are from Texas so we were skeptical on good Mexican food in Maine. What a great little place. We tried a variety of their dishes, all were delicious, fresh ingredients, authentic flavors. We are sold and will be back. Budget friendly as well.

Listen. It’s really good. Not very spicy probably because it’s in Downeast Maine but it’s cozy and comforting and all of the fresh homemade corn cakes and tortillas are sooooo delicious. Also the salsas are very good to brighten things up a bit. Perfect meal if you spent the day hiking and want something delicious to eat at your campsite!

We had the huarache with Mexican beef, chicken burrito, Sopa with chorizo - great flavors, excellent cheese and in the heart of Downeast Maine. Generous portions and reasonably priced. So fortunate to have this family business in our community. Also bought a tres leche cake but too full so saving it for later!

Authentic Mexican Soul Food! Absolutely delicious. My wife and I ate the vegetarian tacos and absolutely loved them. Downeast Mexican Takeout offers an extensive menu filled with plenty of favorites to choose from. The staff, hospital, and atmosphere are excellent! Outside you will find both picnic tables and a screened dining area where you can enjoy your meal. Looking forward to having dinner here as well and trying more items on the menu.

The best steak tacos. Everything thing made by hand and so delicious!!! A little out of the way but so so worth it. If your headed down east stop in!!!
